Blog Posts

  • I am going to sound like a total idiot, but here goes. I started using Wordpress many months ago, but have pretty much only used "pages" on site, and "Woocommerce" on another, or some other theme related way of showing content. On this site using this theme, I'm using Woocommerce as this is a site that sells tours. Now, we'd also like to have a "News" section where we have articles and news stories.

I created Categories, I created Posts and put them in Categories, I created a Page and used the JAW shortcode to put a blog in there, I then created a Menu Item for that page and it is here: http://www.awesomeadventures.com/awesome-adventures-news/ and when you click on the Blog Post, it goes to the post AND shows the correct sidebar. So far so good.

BUT, I can't figure out how to show only the 'teaser' or 'excerpt' or whatever you call the beginning of the article when you click on say, the breadcrumbs right above the blog post and choose the Top Level Category of Awesome Adventures News. I"m not even explaining this well. When I am on this blog post http://www.awesomeadventures.com/liquid-logic-versa-boards/ and I click on the breadcrumbs above the post (either category) it then goes to THIS page http://www.awesomeadventures.com/category/awesome-adventures-news/product-reviews/ and it shows the entire article....when all I REALLY want it to show is the same as what THIS page shows http://www.awesomeadventures.com/awesome-adventures-news/ (not the content per se, I know it will show all articles in the product-reviews category but I just want it to show part of the article in that nice 'bloggy' format.

I am a total beginner when it comes to blogging!
