How does the GoodStore Login/Logout logic work?

Can you explain the logic or steps to setup a proper logout page that will work in your theme? I removed the link for logout that kept sending me back to your demo. I changed the logout menu item to .../wp-login.php?action=logout. Which it does log the user out -- but it doesn't send my customers to a logout page for a message like. 'Thank you, please visit us again.' It sends them to a WordPress login/logout panel.How can I logout a customer and send them to the logout page when they click on the menu link?
